Since we have now mastered what an adjective is, it is now time to use adjectives in our writing to make our sentences more “colorful”! Monday morning I presented the students with a present. I didn’t share with them what was in the present…. instead we just talked about what the present looked like. Bummer huh?! We used our best adjectives to describe what the present looked like:
Tuesday, I revealed what was inside the gift bag… POP ROCKS!!!
Before eating them, the students smelled, and touched the pop rocks to make sure we were covering all of our senses. Then, everyone got to eat their bag of pop rocks! It was so funny listening to all of the popping goin’ on in the room! Most of them were afraid to shut their mouth! HA!
After their experience, they jotted down some adjectives describing them.
Then, we met as a whole group and everyone shared part of their experience!
The last day of our week full of pop rock activities, we combined everything we talked about, and did a little descriptive writing with our Pop Rocks! How stinkin’ CUTE?!
I love it!!!! How fun! :)
