Oobleck!

Today we made oobleck! It was fun and messy! We discussed the properties of the oobleck. It acts like a liquid when being poured, but like a solid when a force is acting on it. Very interesting! If you make enough of it, you can even walk on it! Several of the students begged me for the recipe so that they could make oobleck at home. All you need is 1 1/2-2 cups of cornstarch, 1 cup of water, and green food coloring. Enjoy!

Mystery Reader

Kelland's dad was our mystery reader this week! He read us a very suspensful story called Jumanji! Everyone loved the story! Some of us even recognized the book from watching the movie!

Our class compliment gumball machine has been filled, and I am so excited! Every time the whole class does something really exceptional or someone gives them a compliment, we get to add a gumball to the machine. When the machine gets filled, we celebrate! Today, I brought some delicious donuts for the class reward. The students enjoyed the special breakfast treat!

States of Matter

Matter is all around us! Solids are one type of matter. Objects that have a definite shape and that do not change when moved are called solids. Here are some solids that our class thought of today. They used smaller solids to make their pictures!
